This year the ATO (Australian Tax Office) is going to get tough on people who are not paying their employees correctly, and this includes employer-sponsored migrants.

It is understood that the department will obtaining the TFN (tax file numbers) of everyone on a 457/482 TSS visa and cross-referencing it with current tax records to make sure that employers are paying the relevant amount based on the migrant’s nominated salary.

If you are planning to become an employer-sponsor but you are not quite sure how to start, or are an employee with any questions regarding your visa, we would love to hear from you. Just contact us and we would be delighted to help.
